What to expect this spring selling season
Spring has arrived, bringing a renewed sense of excitement in the property market. Whether you’re…
Spring is the season of new beginnings. Fresh buds bloom and the earth seems to come to life again. It’s the perfect time to declutter and freshen up your home and to me, nothing feels quite as satisfying as a house that “sparkles”.
I do however think that the thought of cleaning your house from top to bottom can be overwhelming, not to mention tiring and time consuming. So my advice is to take it slow, and do it room by room. No matter if you only have five minutes or an entire week to spare, it’s rewarding to give your home a much needed refresh.
My top tips:
Unfortunately we often have clutter in our home so a good starting point is to look around your room and see the things that can quickly and easily be recycled, thrown out or donated. You will see that by getting rid of the stuff you don’t need, your vision will be clearer, and you’ll be able to see what else you can part with. With less clutter, you can make decisions about whether or not you want, love and need certain things.
Some important questions to ask yourself are:
Could some of your belongings that you no longer want or need, serve someone else more? The answer is probably yes!! Place everything you’re no longer keeping in three piles (throw, donate, recycle), and ensure that you “get rid of them” ASAP. Once you have sorted though your home, the next step is to give everything that you’ve decided to keep a place to “live”. This means that everything needs to have a specific place where it is stored so that you know where to put it when it’s not in use.
I hope these quick tips will give you the motivation and encouragement you need to do some decluttering in your home. Let’s hope this spring is a new beginning for the world! Bring on those rays of sunshine that makes your soul smile!
Happy Spring, Happy decluttering!
